Well, life kept on getting in the way this week. For a variety of reasons, I haven't been able to run since Tuesday. This is not the end of the world, although it probably won't make tomorrow's 14-miler any easier. The good news is that the kitty is all right and I should be able to get back to my usual two-or-three runs per week now.
On the plus side, my right hip seems to have gotten over its little hissy fit. That most definitely will make tomorrow's run easier.

I know this comment will make you cringe...but I highly recommend the 15 minute ice bath after tomorrow's run...your hip will thank you!

OK, so how do you do that? Ice only, or ice in water, or...? How many bags of ice?
I usually will buy one bag of ice and then add whatever extra ice is in my freezer. Then add cold water so that it's high enough to cover your hips. I recommend wearing a hoodie, drinking hot tea, and either reading or listening to music at the same time. The first 3 minutes are the worst, but then you acclimate. I set a timer for 15 minutes.
